Just a quick plug: If you are interested in taking private lessons, you are welcome to peruse this list for potential private teachers. This is by no means comprehensive–if you are aware of a band instrument teacher in the area that is not on this list, please have them reach out to me with their contact information. Basically, concert black formal dress clothing from neck to toe.
Women:
Black dress pants or black long skirt/dress down to the ankles (or black hose for shorter skirts)
Black dress shirt or blouse
Black belt (if worn) and black dress shoes

Upcoming Events:
- Seniors: Music Sterling Scholar interviews and recital is on October 26th, starting at 6:00 pm (potentially 5:00 pm–stay tuned for further developments). If you applied to be the Instrumental Sterling Scholar, please have something to perform on the October 26th recital. Accompanists are preferred, but not required. If you become the Sterling Scholar, you will need an accompanist at the Region competition.
- Marching Band: We have the Jr. High Day on March 26th. Please refer to past marching band emails and communication for that, but just know that you will be checked out to ride the bus to Orem High School at 11:00 am, be at Orem High by 11:30 am. After Junior High Day, we will have a rehearsal. You may need to find a way back to your car after rehearsal that evening.
- Jazz Band: We will be performing at the Playoff Football game this Friday at 6:00 pm. Call time is 5:30 pm. Dinner will not be provided, so eat something beforehand.
- All students: The Mt. Timpanogos Marching Band competition will be this Saturday. All non-marching band students are invited to come see the competition for only $5 (this includes a drink and a candy bar at concessions). The schedule is below:
- - 6:00 PM Meet at Orem High School for free pizza and drinks
- - 6:30 PM Take a bus up to American Fork High School
- - Watch marching bands, including Orem City and American Fork High School
- - Return after all the bands are done, be back at Orem High School by 10:30 pm.
- - 6:00 PM Meet at Orem High School for free pizza and drinks
- All Students: The Orem City Marching Band Family and Friends Night is October 30th at 7:00 pm at the Orem High School Football Stadium. We encourage all of you to come!
- Jazz Band and Percussion: We will be having our Jazz and Percussion night on November 16th at the Timpanogos High Auditorium! Below are the details
- - We will be combining the concert with Orem Jr. and Oak Canyon Jr. Highs
- - The concert is happening on Nov. 16th at 7:00 pm. Call time for all students is 6:30 pm
- - We will have a tech rehearsal on the day of the concert. It will last from 2:45 to 5:30, but you are not required to be there the entire time. Below are the specific times you are required (the order is also concert order).
- - 2:45 - 3:10 Advanced Percussion
- - 3:10 - 3:30 Beginning Percussion
- - 3:30 - 4:00 Oak Canyon Jazz Band
- - 4:00 - 4:30 Orem Jr. Jazz Band
- - 4:30 - 5:00 THS Jazz Band
- - 5:00 - 5:30 Combined Jazz Bands
- - At 5:30 (after our rehearsal), we will have a dinner (Little Caesars pizza, chips, cookies and soda) available for all students from Orem Jr., Oak Canyon Jr. High, and Timpanogos High School. Please make sure I know of any food allergy considerations and dietary restrictions in advance.

- - Concert black is expected of all Timpanogos High School students for concerts. For any questions, please see the explanation underneath the Concert Bands tab on timpanogosband.org
- - We will be combining the concert with Orem Jr. and Oak Canyon Jr. Highs
- Jazz Band: Save the date on November 20th for the Icebreaker Jazz Festival. We have not been able to register yet, but we will when it opens up, and I will let you know what the schedule will be as soon as I can. Thank you for your patience.
- All students: We have an awesome opportunity to see the Utah Symphony for free during the school day. This will be happening on November 21st, the day before Thanksgiving break. I hope that many of you will be able to come with us. Please submit your name on the below form if you would like to go. Thanks!
- Consultation performances in the next month: All percussion on October 27th, Jazz Band on November 10th
- Please meet in the band room at 7:15 am to get everything prepared. We want to start performing at 7:45-7:50 am
- Jazz Band, you will be there already because of Jazz Band rehearsal
